Aloha Golf and Coffee Lounge was founded by a local Utah Polynesian family with a passion for golf, coffee, and the spirit of aloha.
Kama was born and raised in Tonga, a small country located in the South Pacific. Growing up Kama loved playing golf and he spent plenty of time in the 9-hole course in Ha'ateiho. A lifetime of love for golf has recently earned Kama his PGA Pro Card and he is looking forward to teaching golf.
Amy, born in Arizona, had a 30-year career working with at-risk youth before retiring in April of 2024. Throughout her many years working, she developed a deep passion for coffee! In July of 2023, Amy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The cancer diagnosis changed the perspective of the whole family, which drew them to prioritize passion and to do what makes them happy. We live life with aloha and the philosophy of "tomorrow isn't guaranteed."
Kama and Amy met in 1996 and have been married for 26 years. Their children are KJ (24), Ma'ilei (22), and Colin (22).
Ma'ilei and Colin got married in May of 2024. They have three cats, Frank (ocean), Stevie and Wonder. Ma'ilei is the manager of the coffee shop, resident artist, and anything else needed! Colin's favorite drink is the Golden Island (Ma'ilei created it for him) and Ma'ilei's depends on the day!
KJ has a passion for anything and everything coffee and spooky. When he isn't at the coffee shop with Ma'ilei or Amy, he's at his other job professionally scaring people. As the shop supervisor of Fear Factory, KJ is living his dream of working at a haunted house and a coffee shop. His favorite drink is the Cinnamon Surfer, his creation.
